People since times immemorial have always used some kind of implement to fan themselves and get a bit of air. In olden times, rooms used to have huge tapestry hung from the room with a cord which used to be pulled to hoist and fan the room. Servants used to be employed in palaces and other rich people’ homes for this job. It is tough to eat dinner in peace when hot food is placed on the table and the room gets stuffy. In order to enjoy your meal it becomes necessary to have cool breeze blowing with the fan.

It makes sense to have ceiling fans even in your portico and balconies so that even during summer you are able to sit out and enjoy reading books or lazing around with the fan on.
